Q: Have the different strains of probiotic in Probiotic 3 been studied together?
A: Yes, Probiotic 3 is a blend of 3 strains of probiotics which has been studied extensively under the trademarked name BioThree. Studies have shown that the different strains are synergistic.
Q: How quickly will benefits be noted with Fem-Adapt?
A: Black Cohosh takes 4-12 weeks to work, flax takes 6 weeks, isoflavonoids take about 3 months to work, pycnogenol takes 4 weeks… It is recommended that the formula be used for at least 4 weeks to assess its effectiveness.
Q: Is there a risk of toxicity or diarrhea with Inflamin due to the presence of castor oil in the product?
A: The ricinus dose to induce diarrhea (as a purgative) is 5-10 grams, there is only 15 mg in inflamin. Regarding toxicity, the oil is considered safe when less that 60 ml are used. The acceptable daily intake for man is 0.7 mg/kg body weight which translates to 49 mg/day in a 70 Kg person which translates to about 55 ml.
Q: Since D-tox 2 contains an extract from broccoli, can D-tox 2 be used in patients suffering from hypothyroidism?
A: The food ingredient found in broccoli that has an impact on thyroid hormones is the isothiocyanates (ITCs), the active ingredient in D-tox 2. There is mention in the literature of possible problems between ITCs and thyroid function. It appears that ITCs block thyroid peroxidase which adds the iodine to the thyroid hormones.
Q: Since Fem-Adapt contains an extract from Hops, will the product have CNS depressant properties?
A: The sedative properties of hops have not been explained yet but studies seem to indicate that an alcohol known as dimethylvinyl carbinol may be responsible for the sedative properties. Since this alcohol is not present in Fem Adapt, there is probably no risk as far as sedation or CNS depressant activity.
Q: Why do you discontinue products?
A: There are only 3 reasons why AOR discontinues a product:
1-Reformulation, a new and better alternative is available
2-Poor sales volume
3-The product is not effective
